A new chapter begins for Brussels Big Brackets! As part of the Brussels Cycling Project 2030, we are thrilled to welcome the Brussels Cycling Club (BCC) into our community. BCC has long been a unique presence in Brussels, known for its international spirit and strong performances across Elite 2 / Elite 3 races, gravel events, cyclocross competitions to major Gran Fondos. Its legacy and reputation will now become part of BBB’s DNA.
What this means for BBB members?
This fusion marks an important milestone for our club. By integrating BCC, BBB is significantly strengthening its racing branch, creating new opportunities for our riders and placing us firmly on a path toward the 2030 World Championships in Brussels.
- Starting 01/01/2026, BBB will manage and support an Elite 2 / U23 racing team, providing a clear and strong development pathway for young riders.
- Our members will gain greater visibility on the racing scene, with Brussels Cycling Project colors represented at top-level competitions.
- Everyone can share in the excitement by getting the brand-new Brussels Cycling Project Racing jersey, designed to reflect our ambition and unity.
- This merger will also spark new energy in recreational racing, giving club members the chance to participate and proudly represent BBB’s Brussels Cycling Project colors at Elite 3 races, Gran Fondos, and gravel competitions.
A shared vision for the future
This partnership brings together and strengthens both our club and the Brussels Cycling Project 2030 visions: two perspectives that naturally build on one another:
- Club vision: To connect passionate, performance-driven cyclists in an inclusive, international community, ranging from safe group rides to elite road and gravel racing, with the ambition of becoming Belgium’s leading cycling club.
- Cycling Project 2030 vision: To create a clear development pathway through Junior, U23, and Elite 2 categories, giving Brussels riders the chance to reach their full potential and advance to higher-level teams.
Together, these visions form a continuous pathway: from grassroots participation and recreational racing to elite-level competition. By joining forces, we can nurture cycling talent at every stage, ensuring that BBB not only supports today’s riders but also inspires and develops the next generation.
Our ambition doesn’t stop at forming an elite team: we aim to shape the Brussels’ cycling scene by investing early in a Junior team, a women’s team, and more.
Looking ahead
With this exciting step, BBB is positioning itself as a leading force in Belgian cycling. Our ambition is clear: to shine even brighter on the road, to give our best talents the chance to step up into racing, and to ensure that BBB has a strong presence and visibility in Brussels as the city hosts the 2030 UCI Road World Championships.
