After the huge success of last year’s inaugural BBB Long Weekend, we’re delighted to be returning to the Vosges once again in 2024.
We’ll follow the same format as last year, with shortish warm up and warm down rides on the Saturday and Tuesday travel days, and full days out on Sunday and Monday (with public holiday). We expect to organise 3 official road captain led speed groups , roughly corresponding to A2, A3 and A4 on our Sunday rides.
So whether you see the long weekend as the chance to test yourself for the first time on summits above 1000 metres; as training for bigger challenges later in the year; or just want to enjoy once of the most beautiful cycling areas in Northern Europe, you’ll be very welcome (although in order to ride in one of the official speed groups you should have comfortably completed a number of rides with A4 or faster).
With our holiday centre at Saint-Dié-des-Vosges (altitude 600 metres) providing buffet breakfasts and dinners you won’t be short of fuel, although you’ll need to pay for your own lunches when the groups stop on-route. And with a swimming pool, mini-golf and table tennis on sight, as the well as the famous BBB Yoga/stretching sessions each evening, they’ll be a chance to burn off any remaining energy before retiring to the bar. We expect to sell the 50 places for the trip quite quickly, so don’t wait too long!
Price includes 3 nights accommodation, breakfast and evening meals. Transport is not included. We’ll arrange a shared car system to try to ensure that everybody (and bike) is able to get to the centre. 250€ for a bed in a double room (either indicate if you have agreed to share with someone, or we will match you with someone). 300€ for a single room. Payments are formally non-refundable. However, in the event that you have to withdraw due to injury, illness or personal circumstances, we will try to find someone to replace you, and cover your payment.
